Our natural, edible ristra is made from New Mexico grown sun-dried Sandia hot chile. They are all individually hand-tied and uniquely different from each other. The ristra originated from native New Mexican people who strung up their chile to sun dry for later use. The ristra has become a sign of hospitality and a welcome greeting. They make excellent gifts for people from the Southwest or for those enjoy our rich cultural heritage.
To make red chile sauce from the edible ristra, it is ideal for your to start at the top of the ristra. Just slide the corn husk topper up, untie the necessary pods, slide the topper back into place, and continue to enjoy your ristra and your red chile sauce.

I now live in Florida and wanted a symbol of home to hang on my house. These ristras are beautifully done and very light! The red color pops! The packaging was also amazing - lots of paper stuffing, very little plastic, and everything arrived secure. I'm going to add a bow to the top to disguise the hook I hang it on. Would be amazing if that could be an add-on item for those of us using them for decor.
